Alejandro Portales
Investment ManagerAlejandro Portales is an Investment Manager at Northgate’s Credit Fund. He has over 10 years of banking and credit markets experience. Prior to joining Northgate, Alejandro served as Director of Loan Syndications and Acquisition Finance in Banco Santander (México), primarily originating and structuring syndicated loans for large corporations and corporate leveraged buyouts. In addition, Alejandro has experience in the execution and placement of bond offerings in México, having been part of the syndicate desk and the origination and structuring team of Santander’s Debt Capital Markets division. Prior to Santander, Alejandro worked at Bain & Company in Boston as investment analyst and also worked for Monex Casa de Bolsa as Investment Banking Analyst for Debt Capital Markets related transactions.
Alejandro earned a B.S. Degree in Finance from Instituto Tecnólogico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and a MBA from Hult International Business School. In addition, during his professional career, Alejandro has attended several seminars related to credit analysis, financial modeling for credit analysis and valuation, derivatives, leveraged buy outs, and mezzanine debt financings.
